Major William Ormsby played the pivotal role in the creation of the Nevada Territory. His dramatic, violent and entertaining story has been fully researched and written about by CW Bayer who will present this talk. His long book, “Profit, Plots and Lynching, the creation of Nevada Territory” as well as his shorter summary book “Dreaming Up Nevada Territory, the story of William Ormsby” will be available at the talk.
