Virginia Truckee & Railroad Wine & History Train

The Harvest Moon V&T Wine & History Train is a journey you won’t want to miss. Ride along in luxurious passenger cars pulled by a historic locomotive of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad. The train departs the station at 6:30pm.

Your ticket includes a wine glass commemorating the event, two drink tokens, appetizers and additional wine can be purchased by the glass on the bottle.

We’ll be serving private label Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Moscato bottled for our friends at the Virginia City Tourism Commission. Vinted and bottled by Tijsseling Vineyards, Redwood Valley, California.

The train ride includes a historic talk as you travel along, about the V&T Railroad and the Comstock Lode. Stop at the Gold Hill Depot where you’ll receive a commemorative wine glass, wine, beverages and appetizers. This is an opportunity to marvel at the Comstock Foundation’s first preservation, restoration project. The iconic Yellow Jacket mine hoisting works just across from the Gold Hill Depot. The project began in 2013, completed in 2014 for just under $125,000.00 and is seen by tens of thousands annually.

Then all aboard as we head down the track to American Flat for another stop and history of the site past and present.

Headed back to the V&T Depot after that, enjoy the Harvest moon as it lights up the high desert night. Arriving back in Virginia City about 9pm.
